Pubic Symphysis Pain ( PSD)

Clear, Clinical Support for Pelvic Pain

Pubic symphysis pain—often called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) or pelvic girdle pain—can make standing, walking, turning in bed, or lifting your legs uncomfortable. This condition is common during pregnancy but can also occur with sports injuries, falls, or repetitive strain.

At Denny Chiropractic & Acupuncture, care is grounded in clinical evaluation, gentle techniques, and practical recommendations that help you move with more confidence.

What Is Pubic Symphysis Pain?

The pubic symphysis is the joint at the front of the pelvis where the left and right pelvic bones meet. When this joint becomes irritated or moves unevenly, it can create sharp, pulling, or unstable sensations.

Common contributors include:

  • Pregnancy-related ligament changes

  • Pelvic imbalance or altered gait

  • Repetitive strain from sports or lifting

  • Previous pelvic injury
