An improved normal

Since March all that we have been hearing about is a new normal. New doesn't always mean better. I for one, don't want a new normal unless it is an improved normal.

Our current normal shows the following:

  • >20 obesity across the US

  • just over 1 in 10—have diabetes.

  • approximately 1 in 3—have prediabetes

  • 1 in 6 children aged 3–17 years were diagnosed with a developmental disability

  • 1 in 54 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder

  • GMOs are now present in 75 to 80 percent of conventional processed food in the U.S.

  • at the average 8 to 10-year-old spends nearly 8 hours a day with a variety of different media, and older children and teenagers spend more than 11 hours per day

Sitting is considered the new smoking. The dangers of screen time are well documented, but now our schooling is done while sitting on the computer?

Is all of that acceptable to you?

What would an improved normal look like?

  • One that values health, true mental, physical and spiritual health.

  • Kids go outside and play. Getting fresh air and vitamin D

  • We have "Health and Wellness" insurance and not only disease insurance

  • Ensure that we eat real food, not GMO toxic junk

  • People are educated about health and wellness

We are in control of our health. This pandemic has shown even more clearly than before, if you don't have your health, you have nothing.

There is no magic pill for Covid at this time. The research is showing 90% of those that were hospitalized with Covid had underlying conditions...obesity being one of the top. Isn't time for you to take back your health. Go for the improved normal. We get one life, why not make it one of health, vibrancy, joy and positive experiences?
